Long lush lashes are beautiful and sexy! Myself and a lot of other women didn’t have them naturally so we turned to the best thing available at the time, conventional eyelash strips.  I grew up in Hawaii and false eyelashes were always the rage. I remember buying a ton of falsies from Long’s Drugs and wearing them 24/7, or at least trying to. I mean you can wear falsies to the beach but you can’t wear them into the water. Also while partying all night long in the clubs of Waikiki I would always carry extra falsies and glue because it was inevitable that one if not both my falsies would partially or completely come off. I made a gallant effort and tried to wear my falsies all the time, and everywhere but it became too cumbersome of a habit and so I was forced to only wearing them on special occasions until….Eyelash Extensions!

With the economy the way it is you may be tempted to try and save money by embarking on a DIY (Do It Yourself) Blonding Journey alone or with a non-professional friend. The results of a DIY chemical service can be disastrous.  Ranging from hair with a strange tint, fried hair, dried hair, or hair that has melted away. Blonding and Coloring can be perilous, without a professional. At Ahead of Style we are here for you. From Prom to Wedding we are ready to go all out to make sure you look Absolutely Gorgeous Darling!

Spring is in the air! Its wedding and Prom season! Here are a few tips from AHEAD of STYLE for your next visit to our salon for special occasion services.

1.    Bring a picture or pictures of hair styles you want your stylist to re-create for you.

2.   Bring a picture of your dress. Or better yet a picture of you in your dress! Your stylist will want to know the style of your dress. Your Make-up Artist and Nail tech will want to know your color scheme.

3.    Bring your hair, make-up, and nail accessories. For example for hair you would want to bring your veil, colored hair pieces, spiral hair jewelry, pearl hair pins, and tiaras. For make-up you would want to bring your crystal false eyelashes. For nails you would want to bring your glitter (but ask your nail tech first, she might already have some), or crushed shell, or nail dangle.

4.   Book your appointment early at least two weeks before the event. Also give yourself and your stylist plenty of time. If your event starts at 6:00 pm you should be walking out of our salon (looking fabulous!) at 5:00 pm.
